Phase 1 of Division 1 ends on a high, with Leeds making history and claiming a place in the Super 5s. The final weekend began well with a strong performance from the team to secure a 13-3 win against the established side of Coventry. Nila Ward powering in 6 goals. The second game against Sheffield saw another convincing win with 10 goals from Nila Ward and 4 goals from Candyce Schroeder.
The middle weekend which consisted of a trip to Edinburgh was a bit disappointing with defeats from Manchester 10-7, Liverpool 10-6 and a draw from Caledonia 10-10 conceded in the dying seconds of the game.
The first weekend in Gloucester started well with a Hucknall hammering 22-5, which saw most of the squad get on the score sheet. The second game again conceded in the dying seconds by a last minute goal by Otter with 19 seconds on the clock to win 10-9.
Well done ladies (and Mark)!
