Our sports Water Polo Our juniors, gents and ladies teams compete at local (Wakefield and District Water Polo League link) and regional league level. Our men's teams compete in the British Water Polo League (BWPL link). It is in the local league that new members learn the basics of match play. If you want to progress beyond the local level and have the capacity to do so, we will provide you with that opportunity. The junior teams compete each year in the ASA Championships with our under 16 junior ladies team securing the ASA Plate twice in successive years. Within our squads we also boast current and former GB and England Talent program squad members. Many of our junior members also play within the North East Regional age group squads who have also seen national success in recent years (NE Regional link). Water Polo is a great multi-skill activity which teaches the ‘FUNdamentals’ of aquatics and sport as a whole, in line with Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) (ASA Waterpolo link). Any players showing commitment and ability to reach the higher level are provided with support to reach their potential.
